Thank you Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
The company has produced two fun-for-the-family plays this summer: “Shrek the Musical,” running through Sept. 1 at Navy Pier, and “Comedy of Errors,” running through Aug. 25 at a host of Chicago parks.
Each of them are over flowing with amazing acting and stupendous storytelling. This production of Comdy is a wonderful introduction to Shakespeare for kids of any age. Plus, they are both under 75 minutes, perfect for the attention span of a child or a restless adult.
Shrek tickets are $18-$25. Comedy tickets are free — but pack your own blanket, chair and picnic or plop yourself down on the grass.
